A moment poised,
Then beat to raise the agile bird
Into the gloomy night.
I scramble, through the brush,
To follow below,
Not knowing where it will lead.
I can see it in the distance
Darting further and further
Away from me.
"Wait! Wait for me!" I cry
As I struggle to regain
Sight of the fanciful bird.
But it waits for no one.
I fall to the ground in dispair
Believing I have lost the trail
When my gaze is drawn to
A single orange feather,
Which is caught
In a nearby sapling tree.
I pluck it from it's landing place
And wonder
If there are any more to be found.

What kinds of things would we then learn
Which would be lost with seasons turn?
All time's enigmas would unfold

Dear moments lost would then be found;
No more in yesterdays be bound,

Then time would have no lasting waste,
